Arthur Fall Group Advertising
The Association of Commerce plans Central Illinois
promotions covering three time periods between now and Christmas. These will be
advertising opportunities that will be supported by
Arthur Special Event Advertising purchased by the AofC. You
may also tie into these group ads at reduced group rates. Your adverting efforts
will produce greater returns when placed around these group advertising efforts.
The AofC will be purchasing Arthur group ads with the 2
endorsed TV stations and the 3 major newspapers for all three (3) advertising
cycles - Cheese Fest, Fall & Holiday. We plan to put Arthur strongly in front of
Central Illinois from now until Christmas.
The three major newspapers in our area, in
Mattoon, Decatur, and Champaign, are offering separate event participation
packages with increasing discounts to encourage participation in one, two or
three group ad cycles by any sized Arthur business.
Both TV stations- WCIA and WAND, are offering
packages that you may run anytime during the balance of the year… that is, you
may run some spots from your package around each of the group advertising time
periods, or run them all at any time of your choosing. Your choice. You will
save money by purchasing a package and then spreading them out over the fall and
holiday season and gain from placing your ads into a time frame with other heavy
Arthur advertising.
For example, WCIA has offered a 15 second , 39
spot package (that could be used as a 13 spot /week run for each of the three
time periods… or run all 39 around Christmas) for only $805 - or - a 30 second,
37 spot package for $1540. That is a
lot of air time at a good rate to build your business and to play off of the
many other Arthur ads running during these key time periods. WAND has similar
offerings and both will be around for your consideration.
These are where the Arthur Association of
Commerce will directly purchase advertising this fall. You can benefit by
getting reduced rates and making your personal advertising stronger by joining
us in flooding “Arthur Ads” into the endorsed medias during the selected time

The
first opportunity to run group advertising will be based around the Cheese
Festival.
An early tabloid is being produce by the
Graphic for early distribution around Central Illinois and later direct
distribution in area papers closer to the festival. Other Cheese Festival ads
are being placed in Central Illinois media by the AofC for the end of August.
The media and location choices selected include newspaper, radio, and television
and cover most of Central Illinois. Obviously, you may always buy your own
advertising direct from your vendor of choice and ask for them to place your ad
adjacent to ours. However, joining our association group ad should always result
in a lower per column inch rate for your business.

this is where the Association will purchase group ads.

TV - WAND and WCIA spots to run during week of Aug 25-29
The AofC will direct purchase event advertising
on both WCIA and WAND TV, to run the week
before the Cheese Festival. These ads will include the use of a portion of the
“Arthur jingle” developed last year. We encourage you to participate by running
your advertising in the general time frame of the Cheese Festival and by
incorporating some portion of the Arthur theme music in your open or close. This
will tie your spots into the “top of mind awareness” that the many runs of this
theme music will generate. The TV reps will contact you to see if you are
interested and further explain the promotion.

All three of these papers will feature an Arthur
“advertorial” format and surrounding group advertising covering at least a full
page promoting the Cheese Festival. Your participating ads will gain strength
from being grouped around the Arthur Cheese Festival feature story as well as be
charged to you at a Reduced Rate rather than the normal open rate.
Fall / Christmas
(Sept 3-Dec 25 coverage including BBQ, Fall color and Pumpkins, Bazaars,
Christmas kickoff weekend with Parade, and holiday shopping)

again, these are the locations and time
blocks that the Association of Commerce will be running advertising spots,
around which you may wish to run a portion of your fall or holiday advertising.
Fall Shop Arthur Tabloid
2 press runs-first smaller run -press date 9/7 to include copy on BBQ and
fall color
as well as holiday information and be widely distributed. Second larger
run for wide area, rack distribution and insertion into Arthur Graphic, Mt Zion,
Atwood and Bement during the week of
11/5 will only carry holiday copy. Both runs-one price,
and you may change advertising copy for second run for modest cost
increase .
Radio
9/3-10/10 Cromwell Radio Group (WMCI, WHQQ, WWGO, WCBH) as
sponsors of the Backyard Division of the CIBR-BBQ will offer packages
leading up to the BBQ on 10/10-10/11
TV
9/15-10/10 WCIA3-TV is a Major Sponsor of the CIBR- BBQ.
Many Arthur BBQ spots
will be running from late September up to the BBQ weekend of October 10-11.
Arthur
will be on the air on channel 3 heavily during this period and you may wish to
join into this TV
awareness time period.
11/4 thru 11/21 Both WCIA-TV & WAND-TV
Pre Christmas Group advertising
leading up to Christmas Parade and
Holiday Kickoff Weekend on 11/22. The Association will dedicate funds to a
Holiday Shop in Arthur theme and again you may wish to join in this Arthur
Marketing time period.
